- Woman sentenced to life behind bars after she was turned in by her parrot
- The bird reportedly witnessed when she shot her husband five times
- Though the parrot itself did not take witness stand, it repeatedly imitated what the victim said before he died
A 49-year-old woman has been sentenced to life behind bars after her own pet parrot revealed that she murdered her husband.
The killer wife, Glenna Durum from Sand Lake, Michigan, allegedly shot dead her husband Martin Durum and the only witness was their pet parrot called Bud.
“Don’t f***ing shoot… Don’t f***ing shoot…,” the parrot sang, repeatedly imitating the last words that Martin allegedly said just before he died.

Christina Keller, the deceased man’s ex-wife, interpreted what Bud was singing. Coincidentally, her interpretation was the same with Martin’s parents, thus confirming that Durum indeed murdered her husband.
“Bud picks everything. It’s the filthiest-mouth bird in the neighborhood,” Martin's relatives told BBC as investigation into the murder got underway.

During the court hearing, it emerged that Durum also tried to take her own life after killing Martin but she did not succeed.

After the shooting, their parrot, Bud, was said to be heard saying 'Don't shoot' repeatedly in Martin's voice. Photo:Facebook.
She is staring at many years behind bars for her heinous crime.
