There out there some wonderful doges. Some unique ones like wolf dogs. A wolf dog or a wolf pet are any type that have “wolf content” in their genetic makeup. Wolf pet may refer to as high, mid, or low wolf-content depending on how many wolf traits are passed on to them. These days, breeders have carefully selected traits and efficiently developed new canine type that look like wolves, but have the personality of a residential pet.
Some breeds have no wolf content such as Huskies. They have some resemblances in markings but they don’t have any relations to a wolf whatsoever. If you decide to take the responsibility of having a wolf doggo, keep in mind that is prohibited in some areas and several states.
1. Northern Inuit Dog

Temperament: Friendly, Intelligent, Loyal to a fault, Stubborn

Males: 79 to 110 extra pounds, 25 to 30 inches
Females: 55 to 84 pounds, 23 to 28 inches
Northern Inuit Dogs were an effort to produce a wolf-like breed with the character of a canine. It is said that this breed originates from the UK during the 80’s by blending Siberian Husky, Malamute as well as German Shepherds.
Fun fact this breed became more popular in the TV-show “Game of Thrones” where the Stark family members comes across a clutter of “wolf pups” which were in fact Northern Inuit pets.
2. Alaskan Malamute

Temperament: Strong, Friendly in the direction of individuals, Stubborn, Intelligent
Difficulty: Little Hard
Size: Large
Males: 85 to 100 extra pounds, 22 to 25 inches
Females: 75 to 90 extra pounds, 21 to 25 inches
The Alaskan Malamutes show some wolf-like traits but they don’t have any wolf content at all. They were originally bred as an arctic sled pet to carry heavy loads. They are made for solid jobs, it could be a doggo hard to handle in a regular house.
3. Canadian Eskimo/ Inuit Dog

Personality: High Energy, Intelligent, Loyal, Brave, Alert
Difficulty: Medium
Size: Large
Males: 66 to 88 pounds, 23 to 28 inches
Females: 40 to 66 extra pounds, 20 to 24 inches
The Canadian Eskimo is a solid, active and curious doggo. It is believe to be one of the rarest and earliest types of arctic dogs and also have been threatened with termination. It’s accustomed to cold environments and loves to sleep in the snow
4. Czechoslovakian Wolfdog

Personality: High Energy, Playful, Loyal, Curious, Fearless,
Difficulty: Little Hard
Size: Medium
Males: 54 to 60 extra pounds, 26 to 28inches
Females: 44 to 54 extra pounds, 24 to 26 inches
This wolfdog was bred to have the character of a German Shepherd but have the physical build and toughness of a Carpathian wolf. They are best fit for big open rooms where they can exercise. Until 2008 this canine was identified as a “Dangerous Wild Animal” in the UK. In some states or countries they may be prohibited as a pet.
5. Siberian Husky

Personality: Friendly, Affectionate, Stubborn, Social, High Energy, Gentle
Difficulty: Medium
Dimension: Medium to Large
Males: 45 to 60 extra pounds, 21 to 24inches
Females: 35 to 50 extra pounds, 20 to 22 inches
Everybody knows and loves these Huskos. The Siberian Huskies date back to the 1900’s when they were bred as a pet dog, sledding and to aid carrying loads throughout Alaska and other places. Today they are a common types praised for their attractive traits.
6. Swedish Vallhund

Character: High energy, Caring, Lively, Friendly, Smart
Difficulty: Medium
Dimension: Small to Medium
Males: 25 to 35 extra pounds, 9 to 13inches
Females: 22 to 32 pounds, 8 to 12 inches
Vallhund translates to Herding Dog, which is what they do precisely.
Initially established to herd cows, and also described The Swedish Cow Dog, this is an uncommon type that is thought to have originated countless years earlier.

7. Utonagan

These wolf like dog are the newer typed presented to the UK in 1980’s which are a crossbreed of Malamute, Siberian Husky, as well as German Shepherd.
8. Saarloos Wolfdog

Firstly breaded in 1935 by Dutch breeder Leender Saarloos. Leender Saarloos crossbred German Shepherds with European Wolves to make a functioning pet. What he obtained was excessive wolf personality which didn’t make good working pets. These cuties are non-aggressive, they require a strong leadership. While shy, they require socializing with various other canines
