7 Most Embarrassing Things Kids Do And Say In Public

Kids say or do the weirdest things.

Most of the time, kids act all cute and innocent, until that moment they have you running to prevent them from embarrassing you in public. You can never predict what a child will say or do. As a parent, all one hopes for is to raise a responsible human being, so some of these things are considered the joys of life.

Here are the most embarrassing things that kids do or say in public:

1. Picking the nose in public.

Have you ever seen a kid picking their nose and their parent doesn’t even notice? As a parent, please show your child how to use a handkerchief instead of their hands.

2. Lifting the dress up and down in public.

I once saw a beautiful little girl at a wedding, lifting her dress up and down. She didn’t seem bothered; that’s pure innocence. Teach your child some public etiquette, if they can understand. Alternatively, dress your child in a short or trouser if they do that.

3. Crying and wailing at the mall.

When you are going for shopping with your little one, your child can decide to give you a hard time. I have seen a child crying at the supermarket for a Ksh. 40,000 toy car to a point that the child became inconsolable. If your child starts causing a fuss, talk to them, and take a firm stand, telling them that there is always a next time; take control if necessary.

4. Saying you lied.

Have you ever gone to visit your friend with your child and in the middle of chatting, your son or daughter disagrees with your conversation and shouts, “Mom you are lying, you said this.”

5. Wearing your undergarments when your friends are at your house.

I once visited a friend and in the middle of our chat, her daughter came running to the living room wearing her thong on the head. Need I say how embarrassed she was?

6. Using profanities with other kids.

Have you ever listened to kids playing and you hear one kid use the f-word? The first thing you think is where the kid learned such words from. Be firm with discipline; it can get really bad. I saw a child calling an adult, “Mbwa!” (dog – Swahili).
